‘Replacement’ ingredient in cold medicines NEVER worked
When Sudafed got placed BEHIND the pharmacy counter in 2006 because of federal restrictions on its active ingredient, ephedrine, its maker “reformulated” the cold medicine so it could be sold on the “regular” store shelves. We’re just now finding out that the ingredient they replaced ephedra with, phenylephrine, NEVER worked to relieve nasal or sinus congestion.
