More than HALF of serious falls go UNREPORTED by home health agencies
If a patient falls down at home… and sustains a MAJOR injury or has to go to the hospital… it’s a SERIOUS matter. And it’s one that home health agencies are REQUIRED to report. But a new analysis by the Office of the Inspector General has discovered that some of those agencies are leaving those VITAL details out of the information that goes into a database that helps folks choose in-home caregivers.
