Quest Diagnostics’ $400 Alzheimer’s blood test won’t tell you A THING

New Alzheimer’s blood test PREYING upon innocent patients with SCARE tactics

Here we go again.

Remember what a DEBACLE those at-home COVID tests were?

They were RUSHED out to market… and FLAWED in design… causing a DELUGE of false positives.

That’s not all… because some of the tests were ALSO contaminated!

It’s no wonder folks had such a hard time TRUSTING the results… which brought about plenty of false negatives, too.

And that was if the person taking the test could even READ the results… which experts told us meant “positive” even if the little pink line was BARELY visible.

Now the mainstream is puffing its chest over yet ANOTHER test…

One that promises to DETECT Alzheimer’s disease with just a few drops of blood…

NO doctor’s office visit required.

This sounds like a scam if I ever heard one…

And even the ultra-mainstream Alzheimer’s Association isn’t buying it. It’s REFUSED to endorse the test… and doesn’t even support the science behind it!

See, the theory behind this DIY screening… which is being offered by Quest Diagnostics… is that it can identify the presence of certain beta-amyloid protein pieces, called peptides, in the bloodstream.

Now, the mainstream theory behind Alzheimer’s is that it’s caused by the accumulation of beta-amyloid protein “plaques” in the brain…

And, hypothetically, if there’s a certain ratio of these building blocks (specifically, amyloid-beta 42 and amyloid-beta 40) already in the blood… they COULD collect in the brain.

Only problem is that evidence has been emerging to indicate that those “plaques and tangles” of amyloid and tau proteins may be only a MARKER of Alzheimer’s… and not the cause.

In fact, they could form BECAUSE of cognitive impairment… as a kind of “scar tissue” in the brain that protects your memory center from further damage.

Truth is, nobody really knows – not even the so-called “experts.”

Even worse, they’re not even limiting WHO should take the test…

Which means you could still be sharp as a TACK… get a “positive” test result… and start to worry that you could be DOOMED to memory decline!

Quest doesn’t seem to care about that, though.

They’re trying to charge innocent people $400 smackaroonies to buy the test… which requires a visit a local Quest lab for a blood draw, of course.

And they can go around your own doc by having you do “telehealth” on the Quest website with one of THEIR docs… who’ll of course recommend the test and send the order in for it right away.

One expert from Washington University in St. Louis told MedPage Today that physicians have a hard enough time interpreting tests like this.

So how do they expect YOU to be able to interpret the results?

Friend, we all want to save our precious memories. But this isn’t the way.

Even if the FDA eventually approves this Alzheimer’s test… which it HASN’T yet, by the way… don’t take that as a sign that it’s a good idea.

Don’t waste your time and money on this garbage… especially if you have ZERO signs of cognitive impairment.

And if you ARE worried about some of those “senior moments” or “brain burps”… or have a family history of Alzheimer’s…

See a real doc IN PERSON, not a COMPUTER doc… and definitely not some quack who’s on the payroll of a lab-testing corporation.

In pursuit of the truth,

Dr. Marc S. Micozzi, M.D., Ph.D.
